Maternal and Infant Health
The Governor's Council On Maternal and Infant Health was founded 1972 by legislation code O.C.G.A. 31-4-1 through 31-4-3.
The Council's mission is to courageously advocate for optimal reproductive and infant health in Georgia, serving as a sought after authority on the State's health system and outcomes.
The Council is a statewide, seventeen-member multi-disciplinary body appointed by the Governor. It is charged with advising the Governor and state agencies in matters relating to maternal and infant health.
